The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail has awarded a pilot section to Yucwmenlúcwu Construction. This stretch of trail marks the first “shovels in the ground” phase of the project.

SDC is pleased to announce the purchase of new pieces of heavy machinery for its Yucwmenlúcwu Construction division, including a 324G Skid Steer and a 50G Excavator.

The Yucwmenlúcwu (Caretakers of the Land) LLP Construction division is working closely with the RDNO and the CSRD to ensure that Rail Trail conditions are safe for development.

Preliminary renovation work is underway at St. Mary’s Church and good progress is being made. Splatsin Band Members are managing and on the ground completing this project.

The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail is receiving a $500,000 boost from the Provincial Active Transportation Infrastructure Grant Program to develop a section of the trail.
