The Environmental Planning & Management department’s mandate is to increase strategic and operational capacity to advance water, fish, land and wildlife stewardship, co-management, research, and development opportunities while supporting Splatsin te Secwepemc caretaker responsibilities.

Our environmental planning and management team possess a comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations and regulatory processes and will lead you through the critical steps needed to ensure your project is on-time and on-budget.

Archaeological Assessments & Heritage

Splatsin Development Corporation’s approach to archaeological assessments involves consideration of the cultural and environmental settling to facilitate a broader understanding of our cultural heritage.

Our team provides professional archaeological and cultural heritage consulting services throughout Splatsin’s traditional territories, conducted at the request of First Nations, government ministries and agencies, as well as private corporations and landowners. Our experts are equipped to address a variety of projects, with scopes ranging from single lot developments to large-scale, multi-year developments within a variety of sectors.

Forestry Planning & Management

As leaders in timber supply planning and forestry operations, we identify opportunities to plan and harvest our renewable timber resources in a way that’s culturally and physically safe, sustainable, and profitable. Our Forestry Team can assist your operation from to start to finish to ensure it reaches its potential.

Our Forestry Team manages Non-Replaceable Forest Licenses, Replaceable Forest Licenses, and Woodlots and Community Forests on behalf of Splatsin. Yucwmenlúcwu does not have its own Forest Stewardship Plan but has reviewed and signed on with Interfor Corporation and Tolko Industries Ltd. Our team manages all facets of these tenures, including resource planning, developing, permitting, marketing, timber harvesting, road building, and most of the Silviculture.

• Quilakwa Canco Gas Bar Masonry: installing stone veneer on the boxes next to the gas pumps.
• Planning and development of a proposed Spaltsin Net-Zero Show Home, with construction slated to begin in Spring 2024.
