Bullseyes, Laughter & Team Spirit: Highlights from SDC ArrowQuest 2025

On Friday, April 4, 2025, Splatsin Development Corporation brought together employees from across our family of companies—SDC, Yucwmenlúcwu, SCS Construction, and Quilakwa—for an unforgettable afternoon of team-building, safety awareness, and archery fun at the Armstrong & District Fish & Game Association.

The inaugural SDC ArrowQuest was a true bullseye of an event. We kicked things off with a hot lunch and warm welcome from SDC CEO Grahame Go, who delivered an inspiring presentation on leadership and resilience—and even shared a personal story of Robin Hooding an arrow during the 55+ BC Games archery competition (yes, you read that right—splitting one arrow with another!).

Next up, Shani Lepp, SDC Health & Safety Coordinator, provided a valuable safety update, reinforcing our commitment to keeping every workplace safe. Safety remains the foundation of everything we do, and Shani’s insights set the tone for the day.

With the business part of the day wrapped up, it was time for some fun! We handed out draw prizes to several lucky winners, including a Magic Bullet mixer, camping chair, air fryer, and cooler. Congratulations to all the prize winners!

Then came the archery games. Whether seasoned shooters or complete beginners, team members embraced the challenges with energy and enthusiasm. Events included:

  • Points Challenge

  • Balloon Pop Challenge

  • Archery Poker

Gift cards were awarded to every member of each winning team for every event—great job to all our competitors!

And let’s not forget the costume contest. The Flight Arrows, featuring Paige Phaneuf, Bryce Tarves, Paul Nicholas, Jenna Cool, and Curtis Vadnais, took home the prize for Best Costume. Dressed as “archery superheroes,” they brought big laughs and even bigger team spirit.

From laughter on the range to new connections made across departments, ArrowQuest 2025 delivered on all fronts. We’re already looking forward to bringing it back next year—bigger, better, and bolder!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, organized, and brought their A-game (and best costumes). Here’s to more safe, fun, and connected events across the SDC team.
