SCS was contracted by BC Hydro to install a riprap revetment pad and new poles near Inonoaklin Creek, which had shifted and was eroding the southwest bank along the right-of-way, putting the 3-pole structure at risk.  Moving the poles further away from the scoured bank was not possible because the structure forms a corner where the direction of the transmission line changes.

The design included a rip rap abutment and setback berm partially below the current high water mark of the creek. The abutment protects the bank and re-directs flow away from the area immediately surrounding the base of the transmission poles. It extends inland past the highwater mark to protect the structure from future erosion of the channel bank.
